Sacramento Chapter Board

Meeting called to order by Fleig 8:18pm at Fleig’s house.

 

Old Business

Minutes of 5/17/05 meeting.  Brown.  Approved (4 0 0). 

Treasurer’s Report by C. Miller. Approved (4 0 0).

 

Backman reports that new driver orientation is doing well.  Getting good feedback from first time drivers.  Adding admonishment to not pass on course under red flag or other conditions.

 

Sweeping at Stockton- Sweeping company did a very good job cleaning the site.  Cost was $500 and was worth it.

 

Backman still trying to get invoice from the Stockton storage yard for timing trailer storage.

 

Weisickle and Patterson did a good job on last weekend’s course.  Weather was hot.  Attendance was 108 on Saturday and 101 on Sunday. 

 

Fleig calls for additional nominations for board positions.  No additional nominations were made.  Fleig announces that nominations are closed.

 

Per our Sacramento Chapter  bylaws, since all board positions are uncontested , no ballots will be mailed.  The current officers will continue in the same positions next year.

 

Miller had to correct two scoring issues on the PAX championship.  Currently posted standings are correct.

 

Bob has worked with the source code for the timing system.  Working on a way to implement an in-trailer 1 inch high display for only $400 instead of the previously budgeted $1200.

 

 

New Business

Decided to replace the PA microphone with a wireless headset microphone.  Cost about $309.

 

Sac State Formula SAE students would like to exchange additional work assignments at the next event for 5 entries each day.  Motion by Miller to have them chalk cones Saturday morning, work their regular work assignments both days, work fun runs, and help take down the course Sunday evening.  Approved (4 0 0).

 

Motion by Miller to to give Sac State the opportunity to extend the same offer to UC Davis.  Approved (4 0 0).

 

Next event is another multiple lap event.  Unfortunately, it conflicts with the local Nationals test and tune at Atwater . 

 

The following event weekend is a non-points event.  Motion to hold the event, and to use 6 practice runs each day as a format.  Also, to use the same run groups as rounds 7&8 for the weekend.  Approved (4 0 0),

 

Motion by Fleig to rent our timing equipment to the Mini Cooper Club for an event at Altamont next weekend.  Approved (4 0 0).

 

C. Miller notes that we need to order more Sacramento Chapter decals.  Decided to reorder the same amount as last time. 

 

The bank is asking for an adding machine tape with our deposits.  Authorized C. Miller to buy an adding machine.  Estimated max cost $150.

 

Talked about additional drifting events.  Decided to not allocate additional dates to drifting events at this time.
